This home, the John Dyson House, was built in the Classical Revival style in 1854 as a honeymoon cottage
for newlyweds. The couple planted twin magnolia trees on either side of the front walk to celebrate their
union. A freak storm felled the two trees in 1985 and, as fate would have it, they fell away from the house
and lay side by side.
