The Steamboat House was built by Charles S. Hebard for his son in 1899, patterning it after one of his steamboats that carried lumber across the Great Lakes. The rounded porch on the front represents the “bow” and the front extensions the paddle wheel housings. Renovations in 1990 added two side dormers, extra extensions, and a porch off the back.
